The Vegan Gourmet Festival brings dozens of fully plant-based vendors together at Umekoji Park each spring, with every stall committed to zero animal products — no meat, dairy, eggs, fish, or honey. Organized by the Japan Plant Based Market Association, it is one stop on a nationwide tour that also visits Tokyo and Nagoya. Ingredient labels are displayed at each stall, making it easy to explore confidently.
Tipp: Arrive early — popular stalls can sell out before the 16:00 close. The venue is under a minute's walk from Umekoji Kyoto Nishi Station, two minutes from Kyoto Station on the San-In Line.
